私たちが取り組んでいるすべての皮なめし工場では、植物性抽出物(天然タンニン)で処理された本物のプレミアムなめし革を生産しています。
また、ここの革工場では、食用肉を生産している業者が廃棄した生皮を使用しているため、皮を剥ぎ取るために動物を殺すことはありません。
*サドルステッチとは、１本の糸の両端に２本の針を付けて同時に表裏から刺して縫い合わせること。完全な手作業でないとできない技法である。
ミシン縫いに比してはるかに手間がかかるが、片方の糸が解れてももう片方の糸が縫い目をホールドしているので、縫合部が緩まないという利点がある。
ルイ・ヴィトンの伝統技術として今日まで受け継がれ、エルメスケリーバック・エルメスバーキンバックにも使用されている。
Masteryatelier products are 100% saddle-stitched /handstitched and handmade.
All tanneries that we are working with produce genuine premium vegetable-tanned leather treated with vegetable extracts/ natural tannins.
No animal is killed for its skin. The rawhides used by these tanneries are discarded by-products of the food industry producing meat for human consumption.
